Jim Barbour

Biography
Jim Barbour was born in Virginia, where he has spent most of his life. At a very early age, he became enamored with the thrill of entertaining and performing. He credits his sometimes disarming and often ill-timed sense of humor as his best coping mechanism for life's travails and travesties. He studied Theater at Virginia Commonwealth University.
After leaving VCU, he pursued a number of non-theatrical careers as diverse as banking, bartending, retail sales, network engineering, and PC support. After a 25+ year hiatus from the actor's life, he became involved with a local group that performs old-radio before live audiences. He continues to serve on their advisory board and is also on the Board of a Richmond (VA) area professional theatre.

Relevant Trivia
Barbour is a fan of all forms of entertainment. He credits a teenaged fascination with the Firesign Theater as an early influence on his desire to perform audio drama, do funny voices, and make people laugh.
Science Fiction has also been a great joy to him. He is even remembers watching first-run episodes of Star Trek, Lost in Space, and Night Gallery. "I was always fascinated at movies and TV series that were able to portray characters, places, and technology that didn't exist... yet," says Barbour.
Jim also has a passion for fiery foods. "If it ain't hot enough to hurt you or make you sweat, it ain't hot enough!"
